Character intro/stories (2.05.18)
Some ways that the main character can begin to feel even more suspicious about their family:
One idea is the main character catches her brother and mother in their home’s office talking in a low secretive tone about what seems herself.
Another idea is that the main character walks in on her brother looking through a photo album of mysterious photos of Fiona captured when she wasn’t looking.
One final idea is when the main character walks in to the mother having a meeting with a man or woman she’s never met before. They both look up to the main character and have very shocked facial expressions which startles Fiona!

Group task in class
In class we had to create a still image of Fiona‘s 15th birthday. Fiona went around describing her relationship between herself and each character. First of all she headed to her mother Zara. She stated that she had a very close relationship with her mother one week ago before she went for a week long trip away to meet Fiona‘s father (who is divorced to her mother.) After returning from the trip, Fiona said that she was very suspicious with how her mother was acting. Apparently, her mother was acting very secretive and mysterious towards her. She wondered why it had to be affecting her relationship with her mother so much. Fiona just longs for the relationship with her mother to go back to normal so they can resume their normal life as a mother and daughter in harmony. Next is Fiona’s brother. She did not mention his name, but mentions that he went with her mother on the trip. He too had been spotted acting very mysteriously and lurking around in the background watching Fiona and writing down her every move and action. Fiona’s brother makes her feel insecure, uncomfortable and suspicious. She had strong relationship with her brother until he refrained from talking to her and instead, just watching her actions. Next up is Cara whom she also introduced with Emily. These two girls are Fiona’s main friends, although she made it obvious that one as it really wasn’t a true friend. Cara is a fake girl who only uses people for attention and was said to spend time with her boyfriend, which just shows how untrustable, and unlikeable her character is. She went down the line to her truly caring best friend Emily. Fiona speaks with empathy and love in her heart when she describes Emily, as you can see the true bond between these two girls in comparison to Fiona and Cara. These two have always got each other’s back’s and hold one of the strongest relationship or the characters in this scene.
List of Characters:
Fiona Jackson: Fiona Jackson is the main character in our storyline. She is played by my classmate Safa. She is first seen having her 15th birthday party with her friends and family which will be mentioned later on in more detail. Fiona Jackson has a condition which is unknown to her. It is schizophrenia. The storyline and plot is when she finds she has it out when her mother accidentally reveals it to her. Fiona is (obviously) 15 years old and she has two main best friends which can be seen at her birthday party. She is quite outgoing and quite friendly as she enjoys talking about her friends and family and is not afraid to give her honest opinion on them. Fiona lives with her family and is often accompanied by her friends in her large house in Texas in the United States of America. Fiona enjoys spending time with her true friend but also doesn’t mind the company of her fake friend becauise it makes her feel less lonely. Fiona is not a party animal, but she loves getting together and hanging out with the people she loves most, like her brother and true friends.
Zara Jackson: Zara Jackson is the mother of Fiona. She is played by Azahra, my classmate. Fiona’s mother used to be a very friendly and supportive mother, but after a one week trip away from home that she has claimed "to see Fiona’s father", she has been acting very strangely. For example, Fiona’s mother has been reading and taking notes about her on the computer. She has also been receiving and sending strange calls from numbers that Fiona nor her friends do not recognise. This is what makes the story interesting as Zara’s suspicious actions capture the attention of the audience and makes them curious. At her previous state, Zara used to help Fiona with homework and also in problems of her daily life. For example when Fiona need emotional support in hard times of her life Zara was always there, also, when she was struggling to keep up with her school work or homework she was there to help and assist her. Fiona’s mother often studies her actions and movements and makes notes about her. She dislikes when Fiona tries to gain information on what she’s doing or when she starts to become nosey and tries to read her computer documents or listen to her phone calls. Zara is a single mother because she divorced, so she is still in the dating world!
Cara: Cara is Fiona’s best friend, well, maybe not exactly her best friend. Cara is played my myself, Jasmine. She and Fiona secretly are not very fond of each other. This is because Cara is a fake person and her personality on the outside compared to what she really is on the inside appears to be very different. On the outside, Cara is sweet, bubbly and caring, but on the inside, she is self-centred and only notices people just because she wants their attention. Cara often relates to the audience at times in the play/video because many people seem to have friends like this. This means that this makes the scene relatable and also catches the readers attention because they want to know more that is going on between the two friends. Cara really enjoys going on her phone and going to the nail salon. she enjoys pampering herself and highly dislikes when people don’t agree with her or share the same opinion. CARA isn’t ISSUE older of her two friends, at 16 years old.
Fiona’s Brother: played by Saif Ghazy. Fiona’s brother is also a character that acts very suspicious in the scene. he is constantly seen taking down notes about Fiona in his notebook and is often spotted lurking around in the corner or the background. His character is currently having a feud with his ex best friend. This is because his girlfriend was caught spending time with his best friend. Fiona‘s brother is 17 years old. his personality is quite protective over those he loves and he is sure to make sure that Fiona is not able to see whatever her mother is writing down about her. He enjoys accompanying Fiona his mother in her suspicious actions which also makes audience curious as to what is going to happen next. Fiona’s brother loves to spend time watching movies like Infinity War or any other action movie, and really dislikes girly chick flicks or trips accompanying Fiona and her friendship to the nail salon for hair dresser. Overall, he’s just your average 17-year-old older brother but with a mysterious twist..
Emily: Emily is one of Fiona’s two best friends. She is played by Habiba. She is the true friend unlike Cara. Emily is kindhearted and a bookworm at heart. she is a girl that loves to read and write. she often gets bored, but when she does she never complains unlike some of the other characters. Emily has no idea why Fiona’s mother and her brother have been acting so suspiciously she’s just as confused as Fiona herself. Apart from reading and writing, Emily enjoys spending time with her two friends. Although Emily does not always side with Cara nor agree to her opinion she refuses to talk behind her back, as that is against her morals which shows she’s a well raised decent person from a good family with kind hearts. Emily is also 15 years old and lives near Fiona and Kara in the same town in Texas.
John is another character in our scene. he is played by my classmate Adi. John is Fiona’s brothers best friend and is the one that he is having a feud with for hanging out with his girlfriend. John is quite stubborn and willing to fight as seen in the video of Fiona’s 15th birthday when he is approached by Fiona’s brother and Is confronted about hanging with his girlfriend. he is seen stepping up and is ready to fight for his side of the story. Just like Fiona’s brother John enjoys action movies and is very keen on seeing the new movie Infinitiy war. he dislikes when Cara and her friends make lots of racket in small spaces like a living room or the cinema. John is a fun person to be around and is not very keen on learning new things or life skills. Instead, he is a daredevil. John is also 17 years old and lives in Texas. HE is a high school dropout! In one of the scenes he can be seen snatching the phone away from Fiona‘s hand when her mother gets a mysterious call. this is quite suspicious and shows that he may have a clue on what’s going on and why Fiona‘s brother and mother are acting so mysterious and secretive.this is another way to grab the audiences attention and alert them on the fact that something is not right in this group of family and friends...

Character list:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1avZn9ONgg3t-NdEo2brqbnvOy6CKPFFo/view
Character list:
Abused Wife (no name) - Dana - She gets abused for things that she does unintentionally that the husband finds rude and disrespectful. For example in the short film that my group produced, the wife gets beaten by her husband for just lifting the arm rest out of the way so she can sweep it. She gets beaten with various objects like sweeps, furniture and belts. The wife is presented as a very weak person due to the fact that she has experienced so many traumatic events that all she has the power to do is sulk and not be able to defend herself.
Abusive husband (no name) - Rushil - The husband is not the victim, but the "criminal." He is seen as the bad guy because he is. The husband constantly beats his poor wife and helpless children with no hesitation. He hits them, kicks them and smacks them with various objects. He obviously traumatizes his family, as can be seen by their facial expressions. The father has put the family in a helpless position, as he is always viewed as the stronger person. His behavior is a result of his addiction to drugs (narcotics) and alcohol, as often relating to real life situations of domestic violence.
Abused child 1 - Jasmine
Abused child 1 - Jasmine
Abused child 2 - Habiba - The abused children step in to comfort their mother, but also get dragged into the beating where their abusive father throws a article of furniture at them. They are very hurt, as can be seen y their terrified, shocked and traumatized facial expressions. Instead of successfully comforting their mother, the two children and the wife end up being in a worse situation, with a much more angry father. In the short film, these children represent the hundreds of thousands of children in the continent of America alone who witness and play the role of the victim in domestic violence.
Spokesperson (person who says the quote) - Saif G - His role could have been more captivating and have had a longer time on screen, as the only part of the short film he can be seen in is at the end where he delivers his short quote. Saif is dressed up in formal clothing, trying to show the level of proffesionalism his character has, and also, dressing up in a suit makes the mood more serious and the audience will take what he is saying more seriously. His role could have been improved on if he had a longer, more "sticking" quote to say, and would be even better if he had more expression and tone in his voice and face when saying it.
Who will film? Mostly filmed by me (Jasmine) but in the scenes where I am in, Saif will film.
What music will we use in the background?
How long will the video be? Over one minute, likely around 1:10-1:15 judging by the plan.
Plan:
Dana, the abused housewife is seen cleaning/sweeping the house and her abusive husband gets irritated at her moving the cushion from under his arm and starts to abuse her. He abuses her by hitting her with the broom, throwing heavy objects at her and kicking her and the children.
The video ends with Saif G saying the quote: "A house where a woman is not safe is not a home"
Meaning, that for a house to be a loving, welcoming, friendly and caring environment everyone especially the women and children need to be loved and respected.
At the very end of the video, there is a black screen, which says"call today" and the phone number of a domestic violence hotline for any victims of abuse to call.
Costumes:
-Dress for the housewife - a white floral dress with red and pink flowers. A 90's kind of look for a young housewife in her late twenties or early thirties, the average age to be raising two young children.
-Suit for the husband to make him seem more professional in the sense where he works for the family and that the wife is a stay at home wife.
-Belt for the spokesperson at the end to show how we should put an end to domestic violence, just like we put an end to the abusive use of the belt to hurt the family.
Props:
-Broom/sweep for the housewife to sweep the floor with
-Pillows to represent the objects thrown at the housewife to represent domestic violence
-Belt to throw away at the end when the spokesperson says the quote
What went well?
The video is very emotional, especially how the sad piano music and black and white filter in most of the scenes compliment each other in a fitting way, tying in the sad, depressing vibe of domestic violence. We were able to successfully film and edit the video in time, although struggling very much with uploading it to the blog as the music was copyrighted so youtube would not allow it and the file was too large to be sent on email or airdrop. Another good thing about the project was how everybody had a good amount of screentime, with the exception of Saif G, but yet again, his part was an important role so that would make up for the minimal screen time. The music really makes the audience feel pity and sorrow for all the families suffering from abuse and domestic violence, and the short film was a decent amount of time (1 minute and a half) not far from the intended time (1:15seconds.) The short film was not too long and not too short. Long enough to get the message across successfully, but short enough that it would not get boring and the audience will lose interest. Also, a nice touch at the end was the domestic violence hotline so anyone hesitant to call the police could call the USA hotline open 24/7.
What did not go so well?
Saif did not have a huge amount of on-screen time, and me and Habiba could be seen wearing our school uniform, although it is not a major issue as we were young children who just came back from a long day at school. Another thing that did not go so well in our video was the ability to upload it to the blog due to technical difficulties, but I will email the teacher to get the issue resolved.
Our message:
Domestic violence has to come to an end wether with your husband, wife, parents or any member of the family. It is wrong and should be dealt with as soon as possible. It is hard to live with and very traumatizing to minds of all ages. If you are ever scared, there is always someone willing to talk to you and help you whether it is your family or someone who is just a stranger on the other end of the phone line. Call the domestic violence hotline today, whether it is for you, or someone you know.

Letter from Sara Brkic to Ivan Ismic
Dear Ivan Ismic
I, Sara Brkic, mother of Bokco Brkic, am writing this letter to you with great grief and sorrow in my heart. Our two children did not deserve such a mournful death at such a young age. You are not alone when it comes to the misery faced by your family. The two lovers always dreamed of living their life in the arms of one another, so I know it is only fair that they shall be buried in Serbia where Bosko grew up, as they were to flee there anyhow. If you are to receive this letter, please respond by writing me back, then we can choose to meet and settle the arrangements and location.
Yours respectfully,
Sara Brkic
Disturbance scene - Group evaluations (3.02.18)
Group 1: Dana, Daniel, Saif and Tanya
Summary:
Their scene is about an abusive father who hit the mother and the daughter. Whilst the parents were fighting, the child goes and sits in the corner weeping and sulking and then a kidnapper comes and kidnaps her, when the parents realize, they start fighting even more. They had two examples of thought tracking, one from Tanya the mother saying that the father is always abusive and always comes home drunk, and one from the daughter Dana who says that they always fight over bills.
Setting: A family home, in a kitchen. Furniture includes chairs and a table. I would imagine the country to be in either Europe or North America/South America where you can easily purchase drinks in public shops and it is easier to be addicted to the substance thanks to the easy access of it.
Characters: An abusive father, who is also an alcoholic and always comes home drunk. A mother who is always abused by the father. A young daughter who is often traumatized/has suffered trauma from her mother and father fighting, and a kidnapper who is not included in the scene for very long, but still kidnaps the daughter.
Who did the thought tracking?
The mother (Tanya) did the thought tracking, saying how the father was abusive, came always home drunk and was an alcoholic.
The daughter (Dana) who did thought tracking when she went and crouched in the corner, sulking, saying how she was so upset that her mother and father always fought and how she was scared and wished they would stop.
Overall, I think that this group's performance was successful as they met the requirements given by the teacher and managed to express their idea clearly using clear, audible, loud voices and visible facial expressions.
Grade: Good, level 5
Group 2: Azahra, Noor, Abdulrahman and Raushan
Summary:
A family was staying in their house and when two thieves broke in and tried to open their home's safe. The thieves grabbed the girl (now a hostage) which was already downstairs and when the man came down, the man (lover) opened the safe for the thieves to take their belongings in return for the spouse/girlfriend. There was no thought tracking so it would have risen their mark if they had included this feature, even though this was already expected of them from the task expectations and criterion/requirements.
Setting:
The setting of this performance was in a family home late at night time where the woman was awake relaxing on her own and the man was asleep in his bed. The imaginary props and furniture included a table, chairs and the most important prop, a safe where the couple's valuables are stored in.
Characters:
A woman who is first seen relaxing downstairs in her home, soon to be captured by the thieves and held hostage.
A man, presumably the lover, who goes down to find his wife/girlfriend (in this act the audience is not informed,) and two thieves who hold the girl hostage in return for the man to open the safe so they can steal money and belongings from the family home they broke into.
Who did thought tracking?
In this act, there was no thought tracking.
Overall: Grade: 4/5 because the act overall was quite short and there was no thought tracking I would give this group a high adequate to a good because although they lacked a key feature, they made up for it using clear facial expressions which clearly depicted each character's emotion, as well as an emotional and loud tone of voice.
Group 3: Karan, Habiba, Safa and, Nicoletta
Summary:
Safa and Nicoletta were the library staff and their library's land was going to be sold and the library demolished without their permission. Here there was thought tracking. They go to meet the rude/obnoxious man who wants to buy their land. At his office, they start to throw all the furniture around the room in anger, rage and upset.

Setting:
I am not fully aware of the setting in the first half of the play before the transfer to "Mr. Vitali's" office. This office was a very obvious setting as the group had set up a table and chairs, with papers across the desk and assistants by the businessman's side.
Characters:
Vitali Hartmann, an investor or businessman (I am not completely certain which, but I know that he wants to forcefully purchase then demolish the library and the land where it once stood and make it a nightclub.) Another character is Nicoletta's character which was on the phone with Safa's character. The two were on the same side, as working for the library meant supporting it and not supporting it's planned demolition. Habiba played the role of Vitali Hartmann's assistant, working also in his office.
Who did the thought tracking?
I am quite certain Nicoletta and Safa did the thought tracking when they were speaking to each other on the phone about how upset they are that the library is going to be demolished and how Safa is even more emotional as the library meant a lot to her because she built it with her dead brother.
Overall: Grade: Very good, 6-7 because of thought tracking and acting skills (voice clarity and thought tracking, interesting and unique ideas. I have not seen an idea like this one before.) Also, the lines looked well rehearsed and each and every performer knew when to start and what their lines were.

Group 4: Anju, Mayukh, Adi, Maria and Danya
Summary:
This group also did a school shooting scene, with a similar concept to my group's. It started off with the students practicing their math with the teacher, then the irresponsible teacher leaves the classroom, allowing full entry for the two shooters to enter, rather different than a traditional school shooting where the shooter sneaks in and there is a lockdown! I think this was creative and a kind of plot twist within the act itself.
Setting:
A school's classroom, in primary school, likely somewhere between the grades 1-3 as the students were learning basic mathematics like 2+2, 1+1 or 3x2, (I do not specifically remember from the top of my head.) The layout of their stage was a desk with two chairs which the two young students sat on, and the "teacher's board or desk" opposite it, with the exit and entry classroom door adjacent to the left.
Characters:
Two young students, most likely in year 1 or 2 practicing basic maths, an irresponsible teacher who leaves the class and children. The last two characters were the shooters which snuck into the classroom and made the children shoot the gun at the "supposedly" other children? I was quite confused at this part because I think the year one students had to shoot their classmates. It was confusing because I was not sure whether to imagine the classmates or if they were just randomly shooting a gun out of nowhere.

The thought tracking was done by a student, Anju's character when she says that they were never going to be able to get out of the school and they are going to be stuck in here forever.
Overall:
I think this was the group that did the best acting and therefore I think it is my favourite. All the lines were well rehearsed considering they had the same amount of time as the other groups, and there was alot of tension and conflict. Also, the music really fitted the mood and just added to the tension even more. This is why I will give this play a very good, level 6-7.
Group 5: My group: Nadia, Jasmine (myself,) Rushil and Omar
In my group, our scene was about a school shooting that takes place in a highschool. When a lockdown is announced on the speaker, all the student panic and take cover and hide under their chairs and desks in silence. A shooter busts the door open, and demands for a female student to stand up. He holds her hostage (the student is Veronica, played by Nadia) and then he drags the other student, Veronica's best friend Monica played by me, out from under the chairs and says that if she will move, he will shoot Veronica her best friend. Monica and Veronia are both terrified for their lives, but reassure eachother to stay calm and that they will overcome this. The shooter Omar forcefully shoves his gun into Rushil another student's hands, shouting at him to shoot Nadia. Rushil is feareful as Omar the shooter says he will shoot his if he does not shoot his classmate. Before the bullet can hit Veronica, Monica jumps in the way and saves her life, falling to the floor and telling her to run. The shooter is furious and immediatley kills Veronica and Monica and even Rushil (in the play Rushil plays a character called Sam.) Here, the scene ends. There was some very weak last minute thought tracking done by Omar the shooter when he says he will "Kill them all." By them all he means the students. This is said before he kicks down the door to the classroom. I would rate my group a good which is a level 5/8 because we followed the criterion and instructions, but we could have expanded and improved on the thought tracking!
What happened? - Disturbance Scene (24.01.18)
Setting:
When the class was told to re-enter the drama classroom, there was a dreadful mess made created (purposefully) by my teacher. The desks were flipped sideways and upside down, and a student's shoes were scattered across the floor, with their soles detached! There was also a chair, turned upside down. At first sight, I thought the damage was simulating the outcome of some sort of massive destruction, potentially a bomb or another sort of explosion. Then, I noticed the task on the board. The task was to write about the setting we have seen, the characters involved in my group's version of the situation, and the situation at hand.

Situation
Mary Lee is playing with her dolls, having a tea party in the front garden of her large mansion, with her parents keeping an eye on her closely through the living room window. Her mother is also reading her cookbook, whilst her father is reading the Business Insider newspaper. A few minutes later, they see two men wearing black bandanas and hats, with long black trench coats. They then hear Mary's cry for help and a loud gunshot fills the air. Mary Lee has been shot dead, and the two men start busting the front door open. Erin Plater hears the shatter of glass and sees that the front door has been broken down. Crying and screaming for help, the husband and wife make their way running out of the house from the back door. The men chase after them, knocking and breaking the furniture, causing a riot and mess in the house. No one else is home to help the two, and their child is already dead! Another gunshot is heard, and Tokyo Looks back to see his wife lying dead on the floor, with a bullet through her chest. He lets out a panicked cry, and hops on the bench outside, trying to climb up the fence. He falls and hits his head on the corner, and soon enough, all he sees is black...
The two masked men shove his unconscious body inside of a bag and stuff him into the trunk of their car, where he is taken away to a secret location.

Reality TV reflection (4.12.17)
1) How have your characterisation skills developed in this reality TV unit?
My characterisation skills have developed immensely over the duration of the reality TV unit. When I first stepped into the classroom at the beginning of the unit, I was lost and quite briefly unable to find a sense of the character I had been given. It was difficult for me to understand my character at first, but as time passed and I participated in more activities involving the characterisation of who I had now named Cordelia Cartier, I began to understand and discover new personality traits, and create new aspects of Cordelia's life along the way. I have developed on my creative skills as well as characterisation skills as when I was completing the first assessment task, the Little Sister task, I read between the lines of which were given to me describing my character. What was once only described as a Social Media consultant and star sign enthusiast developed into a social media addicted, obnoxious yet sensitive British-American girl, none of which wouldn't have happened if it weren't for me using my imagination and creativity. It is obvious to me that as I partook in group activities in character, that I was able to discuss and come up with new facts about Cordelia. An example of this was when we were given a scene to recreate from inside the household. I discovered Cordelia's self-absorbed personality and how she only cares about her phone, when it is clear to her that her selfish commands and decisions will have a negative effect on others. When my household was doing team building activities in character, I learned how to stay in character and also learned how to develop my character by observing how others did it. The way that was most obvious to me was how many of my classmates remembered phrases and common actions that their characters would say and perform, and by remembering the phrases Cordelia would often say, helped remind me to stay in character and perform a realistic and therefore convincing act. Another example of when I really got to understand and build upon my character is when we were doing the Design a House challenge. This meant that I could really display my character's personality through her interests and passions. For example, when Cordelia demanded a large swimming pool outside shows she is materialistic and wants everything to be large and grand, even when it is not necessary. Another example within this task was when Cordelia kept ordering the other group members around. Normally, the average person would not be so bossy and rude to the point that they would treat their peers like slaves, but not in Cordelia Cartier's case!
2) What target can you identify for yourself in order to improve on your characterisation skills next term?
My target is to be able to memorise more information about my character and be able to depict Cordelia in a more realistic way that I can currently do now. By memorising more information about Cordelia, such as hobbies apart from makeup, bossing her peers around, sports and eating healthily, I will be able to prepare myself for any sudden situations or questions where it is possible that I may get stuck. Also, to depict Cordelia in a more realistic and believable manner, I must learn all the information I can about her instead of relying on made up information to guide me through. Some information I could memorise are: more hobbies, interests, passions etc. her type of comedy, not just "intellectual humor" more like, intellectual humor on what topics? Who are the members of Cordelia's family and is she close with them, as I remember getting stuck on that question when one of my classmates asked me it. Her favourite subjects at school apart from sports education/PE and lastly, where Cordelia sees herself in the future. I think that by visualising and taking the time to think about how Cordelia Cartier would see herself in the future would really help me pull the whole character together as there is another point to base the character off of. To improve my acting and therefore improve my characterisation skills, I have to speak loudly and clearly and with more expression to my voice can be heard boldly to the audience, like Cordelia's as she wants everyone to be able to hear her speak then follow her commands. Also, I need to show more emotion as deep down inside, Cordelia is a really sensetive person and when someone speaks about loving her genuinly she gets very emotional, so in emotional situations, I need to act like I am crying and tearing up because that is what my character would do. To help me improve my crying and emotional acting, I should ask my teacher or anyone who is able to successfully cry and do a convincing act to help me display my emotions in a convincing and realistic manner. I think that the key to improving my character is to staying in character at all times, because if I lose track of my thoughts, I will forget how to continue onwards and mess up the performance/act. Ways to keep focused when I am performing is not to be too stressed. I need to take it easy as another way to make my acting realistic is when I am not continuously forcing words to come out of my mouth. When I am relaxed, the words will come to me naturally and make it look more realistic and make me feel more comfortable.
3) How can you improve your homework when completing written work about the practical explorations in class?
Generally, I do think I complete good homework as what I write is detailed and descriptive, but a major point I could work on is time management. Time management also goes for other classes even apart from this one, drama. As I and other students often get overwhelmed with the amount of homework we receive, I am not able to responsibly divide my time spent working on each assessment. I am often found staying up late at night completing an assessment or homework assignment before the day it is due (next day.) This is because of my ineffective time management skills that I lack. I think that if I were to own a diary and write down a time table of how I will divide my day and week doing homework and spending time for myself, I would be able to live a less stressful life and complete work to the best of my ability without staying up long hours rushing to finish the due work. Ways I could organize my time would be 1) Writing in a diary or time table, 2) Creating my own chart/schedule and inputting the work that I need to do, or 3) writing it down on my whiteboard in order of due date and also importance, then crossing off the work as I finish working down the list. Talking specifically about the drama reflections, I could try to organize my blog better so it is easily visible as to the location of each assignment task is. I need to understand how to use the blogger software to the fullest, learning all the features which could help me organize my blog even further. A good place to go to learn these features are youtube tutorials, asking my classmates or simply practicing in ICT class!
4) What have you most enjoyed about this unit?
I really think that I have been able to interact with my classmates and friends in a way that I have never seen before, for example, I have seen their creative sides, silly sides, serious sides and "emotional" sides. I have strengthened my bond by working cooperatively with one another, and heightened my responsibilities by completing my assigned task work. I think that this unit has been a very fun learning experience for me, as well as being very different as I have never done something similar to reality TV in drama class before! I think the dark and scripted side of reality TV has really intrigued me as I never knew such scripts and made up scenes happened behind the scenes of some of the world's biggest TV shows! Also, as well as strengthening my friendships with my classmates, I have been able to improve on my writing skills which is quite enjoyable for me as I enjoy getting good grades for english! Another enjoyable thing that I really did like this unit was being able to spend time with my friends and have fun filming outside of school at my house, because as we were filming, I also got to have fun, talk and catch up outside of school. Amongst all the friendship aspects of this unit I have really enjoyed, I enjoyed choosing props and putting together outfits because I really do enjoy fashion, and knowing that I have involved one of my own personal interests in my schoolwork brings me joy.
5) What was your greatest achievement in drama this term?
By far, my greatest achievement in drama this term was winning a certificate for drama and also getting higher marks and progressing from the marks I used to get last year. This is because of the dedication I have attempted to put into my work and how I try to write as detailed and descriptively as possible, using new terminology I come across. I think that these two are my greatest achievents, but I still have not progressed greatly in my acting skills. I hope to achieve higher marks in acting to help me improve my skill and report card. Along with my achievements, I think that I have successfully developed a brief description of a character into a character that if someone asked me a personal question about, I would be able to answer like if it was my own life, that is how well I know Miss. Cordelia Cartier!

Konnor's leaving - Best Bits (25.11.17)
Best Bits Props and Preparation (20.11.17)
Scene Ideas:
Group scenes:
-Filming a youtube video, vlog or "Instagram Live Video." Videos produced by the house members truly capture each and every member's true personality as we interact with one another in a calm, casual environment. We will aim to include challenge videos, "daily vlogs" and emotional talking videos to show how each house-mate supports each other through emotional phases.
-Picnic scene eating food made by Betsy. This kind of scene shows how we can bond as a team and appreciate each members talents, passions and hobbies!
-In the video, each group member will have their own individual short scene. Their expressions will be emotional and they will talk about their thoughts on the first half of the season.
-An emotional group hug scene will show the whole house comforting each other. The hugging will show the audience how empathetic, sympathetic and caring each member is towards one another despite the hard feelings and fallouts. Topics we may include are one of Betsy's new boyfriends breaking up with her, or another example is a house member losing their job. There will be lots of fake tears and devastated facial expressions!
-First day of casting where we all pray for the best. Very emotional and nerve-wracking.
-Going into the house for the first time and meeting one another. Really emotional as this is the first time meeting the people we will have to live with for weeks and even months!
Props:
-Clothing items: to express the style and personality of each character. For example, my character, the diva Cordelia Cartier will choose to wear trendy clothing like ripped denim pieces (jackets or jeans) necklaces or choker necklaces (tattoo necklaces) and other modern clothing items like fishnet tights or socks. She will wear lots of branded clothing as Cordelia cares about big labels and is highly materialistic! Konnor on the other hand would choose to wear sporty items like tracksuits, hoodies or jogging bottoms and trainers.
-Accessories: Accessories will accompany the outfit of choice, and will help provide variation from outfit to outfit. Accessories often pull the whole look together and make the show seem more realistic and not like we just put on costumes. I will definitely bring in eyeliner and hooped earrings as those are Cordelia Cartier's statement pieces!
My clothing items and accessories/makeup:
-Denim jacket
-Ripped jeans
-Choker necklace
-Necklaces
-Hooped earrings
-Black liquid eyeliner
-Fishnet socks/tights
-Adidas jacket
-Adidas leggings
-Adidas trainers
-Pyjamas (for the emotional scene)
-Fake alcoholic beverages: as a substitute for alcohol which is obviously illegal in our case (21+) we may use wine/champagne classes filled with carbonated beverages or juice/water. The alcohol will represent the party/lavish lifestyle the mansion brings and the personality of the party freak Cordelia.
-Wine glass
-Champagne glass
-Water
-Barbican non-alcoholic "beer" as a substitute for beer
-Juice (example apple juice or grape/berry juice for wine)
-An iPhone needed to screen record the live video. An iPhone instead of set up cameras to make the scene first person and not appear staged.
Scenes:
-Garden to film the picnic scene
-Bedroom to film the emotional group "hugging" scene
-Studio to film the individual headshots
-Living room to film the first time going into the house scene
Voted off - Thought tracking (11.11.17)
This lesson the audience (rest of the class) watched a live, on-stage version of the scene on Little Sister where each house member would choose another to vote off. Unfortunately, the house that I am in was not able to perform so what I have to write is how I would have imagined the scene to go, and what I would say from Cordelia Cartier's perspective.
Who would I vote off and why?
Firstly, I would think about each of my housemates; whether I dislike or like them and why.
As you already know, Konnor and I have had beef in the past. I think she's such a messy old lady who's always got an issue with one of the housemates. Konnor is always acting grumpy, is clumsy and unorganized to the point where it is literally, like, deperessing to have her around! When she left her stupid skateboard lying around I tripped on it and nearly broke all the 206 bones in my body! God knows if the lawyer just listened to the rest of the arguement he would have let me file the lawsuit! Time to force another lawyer into taking me in as their client. Anywayz, back to CONNOR. I would have never landed a disgusting, sticky peanut butter and strawberry jelly stain all over my brand new outfit if it wasn't for the fight between her and Lionel! The babyish fight ended up getting messy! I totes threw food on all of them too, but that's only part of the revenge. I think that Konnor's hobbies are dumb. All she likes is to scoot around or read books, when she could be hanging out with Betsy and I doing productive tasks; like stalking BB's ex-husbands on social media or making organic, berry super smoothies. I'm actually pretty clever if I don't say so myself, aha, and was planning on helping her boost her social media exposure in the beginning when I just met her, but when I found out what a ***** she is I, like, totes ditched that generous idea. I'm sure she wouldn't even appreciate anyway. I'm like pretty sure NO one likes her because she hates everyone, including me, which is absolutley stupid because no one should ever hate me! That's also why I want her off. If someone does not like me I will make sure they either end up LOVING me or just get eleminated, or disqualified or whatever. I honestly hope she gets stuck in the comic store she works at, and when I walk past, she notices me and starts banging on the door, and I'll be like, no sorry, I can't help you because I'm carrying my stuff. So I guess I could say, she's just a useless scooter which is just a waste of space in the house, and instead of working at a book store, she should work for me as my personal slave driving me around on her scooter.
Moving on to Betsy. I think that Betsy is the one I click the most with out of all my housemates. The reasoning behind this is that, (despite the two year age difference,) we share similar interests like healthy living and social media. Betsy has also married tons of men in the past, which I think is really cool, especially considering she is only 22! Betsy is such a QUEEN. She needs to teach me how she gets all the guys! Also, with her experience of working with young children as a preschool teacher, she knows how to tame our housemates. I think that her super smoothies taste great too! No way I'm voting her off.
John Smith - This week, the house was informed on his past. It was a great shock to us when we found out he went to rehab after becoming addicted to drugs! I think that one of the reasons John did not tell us is that he could be embarrassed about this whole situation. I think I should do more research to learn how to figure out what the Star Signs are hiding... oh wait... I don't even know when he was born. Shame he didn't tell us. Despite his many negative features, one thing I like about John Smith is that he is athletic, which means he can assist me with difficult tasks! Tasks like holding my phone when we walk up and down the stairs, or when I need someone to fetch me iced-coffee from Starbucks. I think it would be nicer if we got to know him a little more, although he has had enough time as it has already been weeks at the house! If he would just strive to exit his comfort zone, then he'd be a fun spirit to be around! #JohnSmith #GoodVibes...
Lionel is pretty funny. His name reminds me of Lionel Messi, LOL, except he doesn't play football, just read books and watches youtube. He always cracks some good jokes, but a time where he annoyed me BADLY was when he used my deadly fall to the ground for views on his youtube channel. I literally FELL to my knees in PAIN and CRACKED my phone. He took advantage of that by filming me and not helping me get back up. If only Lionel would be a little more of a gentleman. Apart from making funny jokes and remarks in awkward situations to break the ice, I like Lionel because he fought with Konnor. I think that anyone who is clever enough to fight with Konnor is someone who I would like to continue being friends with. Maybe if I continue to make Konnor look bad in front of the housemates, then they will be persuaded to kick her off the show! #3v1

*LIVE*
I'd like to vote Konnor off the show. Konnor is a boring, useless scooter rider who doesn't deserve to win 3 million dollars! All she does is scoot around on her scooter, whereas I'm here working my *** off trying to manage my social media account, as well as worry about what Betsy and I have to wear, eat and drink. All my injuries are because of HER!!! Maybe if there weren't so many scooters lying around, then I wouldn't have to sacrifice myself and break my bones every day. The only solution to ending the beef between her and I is to eliminate her from this competition. I have many valid points to back up my excellent choice of who to eliminate. Points include: people like me who work their ****** ******* ***** off just to get on the show when Konnor the scooter ***** thinks she can just rock up in her vans and get accepted! I mean, don't we all want each and every episode to be different and interesting, not the exact opposite, dull and repetitive. I think Konnor's life is like a never-ending cycle. She wakes up, eats breakfast, goes scooting, comes home, acts grumpy then go to sleep. Why would we want a 86 year old man in a 25-year-old girl's body? I also NEED her off because she is so horrible to my friend Lionel. She had this HUGE fight with him over some sort of anime book. Betsy told me that Konnor slapped his face with it! Now if she wants to get physical, we can get physical. Meet me behind Prada at 5:00 sharp, this Tuesday, missy, or on second thoughts, why would I ever let my hands touch those filthy rags she calls clothes? I'll stick to fighting with the sales assistant at Louis Vuitton when they tell me that their managers not in. For realzies, someone seriously needs to get this scooter girl off MY show.
My reaction if I was voted off
*Eyes start to tear up, voice trembling* How... how could you do this to me? *Tears start rolling down eyes* Getting a spot on this show was all I ever dreamed of as a child! (Lies: when I was a child, I didn't actually care about Little Sister. I only started to care when I found out about the money.) I remember sitting at the foot of my mother's small, rickety bed. I could only dream of winning 3 million dollars. Now my childhood dreams have to be SPOILED with all of your selfish votes! If this wasn't live right now, I'd hire an assassin right away and order them to shoot you all! *INFURIATED* No one ever dares to oppose against me, Cordelia Cartier. I am the Queen Cartier and everything goes my way! Now, Konnor, meet me behind Prada today, at 5:00 sharp, because I am sure you are the devil behind all of this mess. We'll sort this out the real way. And you three, (*voice trembling again*) I thought you were my friends. What have I ever done to you! You'll regret ever voting me off because in 10 years, when I'm rolling in cash, you will come begging to me! Well guess what. Don't. Because I don't want anything to do with you. That's it. I'm blo..ckin...g. y..o..uu. *WAAAAAAAA* *runs off stage*
Masking the moment (10.10.17)
This lesson my group (Nicolette, Noaf, Adi Omar and I) were assigned a task: to create a dramatic scene from the show. Our teacher Ms. Ruiz described a problem to us. It was that Nicoletta's character Konnor had just come back from skating when she carelessly placed her skateboard in the middle of the living room and I (Cordelia Cartier) trip over it holding my 24k gold phone which completely shatters! Omar (Lionel) is a bookworm with a large Social media platform, so as soon as he notices the tension between Konnor and Cordelia, he whips out his phone and starts recording the mishap and argument. Noaf (Betsy) was busy choosing between accessories when she notices the problem, she immediately begins to defend me by saying points like "You should have been more responsible and tidy" to Konnor to support me as we were already friends from the casting days.
Analysing each individual: My facial expression is me crying uncontrollably over my 24k gold plated smartphone that shattered to pieces. I am sitting in a helpless position on the floor, with my arms resting limply on my aching legs holding the phone. I look like I am in disbelief and utter misery. Nicoletta's is sitting on the floor along with me, which makes it obvious that both she and I are the main characters of this problem. Her face is hidden beneath her hands which displays her guilt and shame. If you look closely, you can see her mouth in a frown and eyes looking directly at the floor which shows that she is upset and embarrassed. Nicoletta is curled up on the floor tucked between two pieces of furniture which show her shy personality when everyone is focused on her. Omar is standing high up on a "chair" to capture a video for his youtube channel from a good angle. He does not want to make it obvious that he is filming, so hides his phone inside his book, which frankly, is not the best idea because no one reads like that! By recording Konnor and Cordelia (Nicoletta and I) Lionel (Omar) shows the audience his careless personality. All he cares about is getting views on his youtube videos and is completely willing to film others in difficult situations to achieve such goal. His facial expression is mischevious, with a grin/smirk.In this situation, Noaf's character Betsy immediately begins to defend me and puts the blame on Konnor. Betsy is pointing at Konnor in a rude way and has a stern look on her face which shows her seriousness. She says unkind words to Konnor, example, "It is all your fault because you left your skateboard on the floor. That is untidy and irresponsible." The reason that Betsy instantly defends Cordelia is they already met at casting and became friends as they got to know each other. Cordelia and Betsy share alike passions and hobbies, example, healthy eating, social media, fitness and... dating! Betsy has had three husbands in the past, one being Lionel...Lastly, John Smith is played by Adi. In this scene, John Smith is busy raging at someone on the phone, which does not lighten up the already tense situation. Thanks to John Smith yelling over the phone, the living room of the Little Sister mansion has become a haven for havoc! John Smith's body language is his back is tense and hunched up and he is standing very stiffly and uncomfortably, which also relates to the uncomfortable and tense mood of this situation. He is mid-screaming and his mouth is already shouting words at the person on the other side of the phone. We chose this moment as the position of our bodies are all facing the camera where our faces and facial expressions are clearly visible to the audience. We were able to build conflict, but I am skeptical on what role Adi played as he was on the phone the whole time?! I liked our problem because it is something that would actually happen in real life judging by the personality of our characters. I think that Noaf's character was most convincing because she really put expression into her voice and when she spoke and shouted it really felt like she was defending me.
What went well?
-We were able to create tension in just one shot by expressing our emotions using our faces. All of us were facing towards the audience, so they had a visible view of our expressions. It is good to create tension as tension is the fundamental of drama and what makes a good reality TV show is the drama and conflict it includes. Tension is also suspense which keeps the viewer hooked onto the show and makes them want to know what happens next and watch more. Producers like to select people that can successfully create tension within the house and keep viewers interested in the show. The audience is able to comprehend things about the characters personality just judging by their pose /the action they are doing and their expression. If they were not to watch the whole skit, I do think that they will be able to comprehend the situation and role of each character. This is important as a good marking the moment image will have clear indications and signs showing what is happening without the need of annotation and explanation. Also, if someone was to see this image for the first time, it is excellent if it is eye-catching and makes them curious to see what happens in the show.
What could be improved?
I think that if I showed my face a little more then my expression would be more visible, although this could be due to the picture being taken from a far distance. It is important for facial expressions to be as clear as possible, as this is the main way an audience can interpret feelings and the situation just by looking at an image. Also, if we were to take our jumpers off then tension could be shown within the veins in our arms and wrists and I could have tied my hair up to reveal the stressed veins in my neck. If John Smith (Adi) would put the phone down and start arguing to add more tension rather than just standing and watching, I think that it would take our performance to a higher level. If Noaf and Nicoletta angled their heads to a position where it would not be awkward but their faces would be more visible although it was already quite clear, our skit would be even greater.
(Unfortunately, we were not able to watch all the performances in class so I am only able to judge performance based on the images shared between our class.)
Maria's group
In this scene, Abood (played by Saif) is on the phone with an angry person and starts to lose his temper. As a stress reliever, he grabs onto Oaklyn's family bible and not knowing what it is, rips the holy book to shreds! Oaklyn is a character played by Maria. She is very religious and prays all day! She worships her prize possession, her family's bible. Oaklyn comes back to retrieve her family bible where she finds out it has been ripped! She instantly begins to have a panic attack and DJ Ran, (Anju's character and Tanya's character,) all attempt to calm her down. They inform her that Abood was the one who ripped the bible! She is infuriated and worried about the consequences of Abood's careless actions. Now there is a newly formed chaos within their Little Sister house.
Their group was able to successfully create tension whilst making their skit entertaining and intriguing. I think the best actress was Maria and many of my classmates agreed as she made many different expressive, hurt and emotional facial expressions and you could even hear the tears in her voice when she spoke! It looked like she was on the verge of tears and was slowly turning red when blood began to "rush" to her head from the stress. Someone who could improve their acting skills and therefore boost the group's overall performance was Saif. He did not really care about the dramatic situation, thus making it more difficult to build tension and anger. I think that if he would add more expression in his voice that it would make the skit more realistic and believable as well as more pressurizing. I think Anju's acting was very good as she memorized the script and performed without hesitation or stuttering. The act overall was very realistic, dramatic and entertaining to watch, but it was quite repetitive at times when the contestants were convincing Oakley that it was not them who ripped her family bible. In conclusion, I believe the most convincing characters were Maria and Anju. I really thought Maria could have actually been crying!

Dana's group
This group was able to express their emotions, but I am not able to see Daniel's face. Dana's pose is very melodramatic and something you would never encounter when watching a real-life reality TV show. Three group members are doing the same pose, so if there was more variety it would improve this picture. Noor's face is cut off so I cannot really see her expression, but her pose can be seen. She looks like she is frightened and slowly backing away from a scary situation. I am not able to understand what is going on just by looking at this picture so I cannot say that it has implied much tension. In conclusion, It would be better if there was more variety between frozen poses and if we were able to see Daniel's face because I do not understand his pose. Sadly, our class was not able to watch this group perform, so what I am writing now is entirely based on what I am able to comprehend from studying this image.
Nadia's group
It appears that this is a scene with physical violence! Mayukh and Rushil are fighting, and Rushil can be seen slapping him across the face. Azahra, Raushan and Habiba appear to be chanting on, but Nadia's character Hazel looks frightened and shocked with her hand across her mouth. Nadia's hand is extended in front of her in a waving STOP motion. I am not certain on Habiba's intention as I cannot see Habiba's face, so one thing this group can improve on is making sure that everyone's facial expressions can be seen. This may also be a cause of the picture being taken from a further distance, but everyone could just slightly turn their faces and bodies to the side. My impression on Mayukh's character is that he is brave and not afraid of being hit by Rushil as he does not appear to be moving in a manner of backing off or fighting back. If this was intentional, I like how I am able to notice it in the image, but if it was accidental, in order to portray Mayukh's character in a more in depth way, I suggest that he should react to Rushil's slap.
Debate questions:
1) Do you think reality TV is more 'entertaining' than dramas or documentaries? Why/why not?
I think that reality TV is more entertaining in comparison to documentaries as documentaries are factual and slow paced. I think that real life situations and watching how people cope with each their problems within a household. Also, it appeals to a wider audience as you have to pay extra money for movies and documentaries, but reality TV is free to watch! Reality TV is so popular as it links to people's minds with empathy, although, many people do enjoy watching others humiliate themselves and do stupid things.
2) What moral or ethical problems might there be with a programme like Big Brother that is filming its contestants 24 hours a day?
Contestants will feel violated as they lose their sense of privacy. With cameras watching, them all day, they may feel insecure because everything they do is documented on camera! Also, morally, it may be wrong for some people because it is against their morals to watch people live their lives and have cameras in their face 24/7. Although we are social animals by nature, humans need privacy to maintain their autonomy and individuality. In order to respect someone, they must respect their privacy which may make contestants feel disrespected by a large audience and producers of the show. Many families and parents do not want their children watching reality TV as many of the actions are inappropriate, unpolite and vulgar. The fact that content like this is available for a whole population of an entire nation to watch may go against the morals of some people as well as the way they were raised. If a contestant is shallow or fake, their true colours will soon shine through as there is nowhere to hide when you are being filmed 24/7. This could result in harrasment over the media or hatred being formed from other contestants/house mates.
3) What reasons do you think some contestants might have for quitting a reality TV programme?
Reasons may vary. Contestants might be under pressure thanks to all the cameras and drama that occurs and show up in the house. They may be pressurized by Big Brother to commit certain actions because they usually require signing a contract which allows Big Brother to portray a person in any way and take control over their actions and what they say. Also, they may feel violated, referring back to question two, as they believe that strangers know too much about them. An example of this situation in real life is when Vicky Pattison felt the need to quit reality TV as people "knew too much about her." She felt extremely pressurized by all the cameras, drama and overall attention revolving around her and her life that she wanted to leave. Another reason for quitting is because of all the hate contestants recieve. This often occurs when there is drama in the show. Supporters of one side of the situation attack the other which makes them feel guilty, worthless and depressed. Issues like this can lead to ilnesses like depression.

4) How 'real' is the action or coverage that we see in reality TV programmes? Explain.
I think that the majority of content portrayed to be real that we see in reality TV is scripted so that the show can stretch in and get more views (the more attention, means the more views and the more view equals more money.) Contestants are often instructed to follow a script and story to create tension and drama. Also, some background information may be made up about the character in order to create a more interesting show. A real-life example of this is on the Dr. Phil show. Patients are required to sign a contract which allows the producers of the Dr. Phil show to represent patients however they want and they must not deny it nor tell anyone about what they have agreed to. If on such show that producers are not able to direct contenstants, they use the power of editing. By editing, they can trim, cut and duplicate clips to entirely change the perspective on the show for the audience. It may not be obvious to us as the viewers, but editing is one of the main focuses when creating a successful reality TV episode.

Lesson reflection (26.09.17)
This is my reflection for Tuesday's lesson.
Today my group and I created an obstacle course similar to the ninja warrior courses! We could only use items from a range of given objects to create our course! My group worked with another group to create an exciting and challenging course, comprising of a mini tunnel to crawl through, two hula hoop jumps and at the very end, there was a limbo then high jump that the contestants had to complete! Excitingly, only two people were able to complete the whole course without making mistakes or being disqualified. I think that this was because of the hula hoop jumps as they were rather small for adults to hop through. During the process of discussing our initial course plan, we met some complications. Some of us wanted to add the hula hoop jumps but some of the group did not as they believed it would add an element too challenging to the course. In the end, we ended up adding it because I wanted to and obviously persuaded my team members to agree with me. The limbo was also mine and Hazel's idea. I really do like Hazel. She is sweet, calm and cooperative which is just what I need when designing something. I think mine and her imaginations work very well together because we both come up with either similar or the same ideas! This means that she is intelligent like me.
When we attempted to clear other teams' work, I also assessed their obstacle courses! I think their organization was better than our group's because they had a better explanation which seemed like they knew exactly what contestants were meant to do. Although, I do believe our organization was also on a superior level to most groups because I helped with the demonstrations therefore making our's the best demonstration and explanation. I managed to complete it without any fouls, but unfortunately, that wasn't the case for my noisy teammates. They kept on screaming and laughing which was quite annoying since when you are trying to turn your body into one like a snake's, you don't need more distractions and even more OBSTACLES holding you back! I am happy that at least I completed it victoriously. I may need to instruct some running and skill sessions. ;)
Little Sister group house designing task
Explanation: On the second day of the casting, judge Betty grouped all the contestants into teams where we all participated in the design-a-house challenge. It was a team building activity, but some of my "team" members did NOT cooperate! I was grouped with a nice lady Sherrie, John, and Abood, descendant, of King Abdallah. Sherrie had a nice yet bland personality. I feel like Sherrie is more of a follower rather than a leader. Out of the all three other people in my group, I feel like I collaborated the best with Sherrie. John was just very out there with his room ideas. He was giving unrealistic suggestions such as an Ice Hockey rink! Abood suggested a money room. Since it would only be fair to include everyone's ideas, I happily added them as long as all my suggestions were taken into account and added as well.
SherrieSherrie: I favour Sherrie over the other group members, but I feel her personality could be more original. She does tend to copy what I say, so Sherrie should try coming up with new ideas and contributing them to the group, like Abood and John. If I find that simple Sherrie has more in common with me, then I feel like we would become good friends because I think she is quite funny and I respect her in a different sense to how I perceive John and Abood. Those two are quite mischevious!
John: John is a bit crazy. He has weird ideas like ice rinks inside the house, but his personality is funny to watch. I do wish he would share his last name with us. I don't think I can quite live with just 'John.'
Abood: I think that Abood has a big ego. He always talks about how he is related to King Abdallah and how rich he is. It can get quite irritating at times, like when I was trying to work and he kept going on about how he has so much money and uses it on smoking and vaping. He even wanted a money room. I thought it was quite hilarious so I put it in. Let's see how much that money room fills up Abood.

What did we add to our house? On the first floor, there is a large foyer with an immense crystal chandelier. It is boring living in a house with no style. Also, we added large, meters high mirrors lined along some of the walls to create a more open space feel. Mirrors help widen a space, so the more mirrors, the more stylish and roomy! In the foyer, there are also stylish sofas where we can lounge around.
There is a large staircase, followed by a smaller spiral one and a lift to take you up all the way to the roof. There are no full walls, they are all glass. The point of big brother is to see what strangers are like in one living space, so why separate us? The only solid wall is dividing the toilets and the living room. Even the toilets are open! (Apart from doors, obviously.)
Opening up to the garden is a large sliding door glass patio. They are SO in trend with today's modern house styles right now! Also, they showcase the beautiful view of the well-groomed garden with a pool and sunbeds.
The living and dining room both have very modern furniture and are spacious and comfortable. The living room is lit up with neon lights, perfect for partying at night or just to add some character to the room. Next to the window, is a large arcade area where gamers can go to and play, or we could just hang out there for fun. This idea was suggested by the boys, John and Abood. The kitchen has a prominent marble design with a center island table where all the housemates can gather to eat breakfast or chat whilst eating a quick snack.
When heading upstairs, you will come across a stylish blue and purple themed modern living room, and to the left, are the bedrooms. It has been decided that Abood and I will have the two biggest beds, and the others will just have queen sized ones not king like my bed. All the beds will be inside one gigantic bedroom, equipped with a 60-inch curved screen television! Upon turning to the side of the room, there will once again be a large window overlooking the green garden. Outside the bedroom will be a cozy lounging area with beanbags and a large projector/TV to watch whatever we want. There will also be a slippery ice-hockey simulation floor as an alternative to the chilly ice.
Lastly, the roof terrace will have the confession room as it has a convenient position of being positioned furthest away from the housemates so that we will be able to talk freely and not with paranoia.
The garden will have a 14ft trampoline as suggested by Sherrie and Abood and a large pool with a waterslide as suggested by myself and John. The sunbeds will be lined across the pool for comfortable tanning!
Little Sister Task
In this picture, I am doing the duckface, my favorite selfie pose because it makes my lips look bigger and gives me a defined face. I like this picture a lot because my earrings are clearly visible, my chocker shows, my crop top design also stands out and my eye makeup looks clean, sharp and bold and make you look twice as they are very eye-catching! Also, my hair is not frizzy so I like this picture, that is why I also posted it on my Instagram. (Follow me @cordelia.cartier) Also, the second image, my profile image is engaging because it gives a subliminal description of my life and interests from first glance. As you can see from the tapestry in the background, I enjoy decorating things with the newest trends, also, I am applying highlighter to my face which displays my passion for makeup as for my trendy choker necklace shows my fashion sense. I did not apply a filter to these images because I want them to be true to color and my makeup also looks better that way as the makeup already matches my outfit!

Height: 5'3 (161cm)
Sexuality: Straight.

Education: Clark Country School District, University of Florida where I earned a marketing academic qualification.

Why I should be on the show: Drama sells. Also, if you have an insta-famous, party freak 24-year-old on Little Sister, we'd all be making big bucks. I am AMAZING at expressing my emotions, whether dramatic, positive or negative on (and off) camera. I'm tons of fun and a mental party animal. My party spirit is just wild! Wilder than any other person I've ever met! I try to control myself, but I can't, so really, my excuse is that its just the adrenaline. I'm just a great spirit looking to have some fun on my favorite TV show in front of millions, and millions, and millio.... well you get my point. I love the limelight.
Backstory: I was born and raised in Sin City (Las Vegas, Nevada) where my parents ran their own casino. Unfortunately, the business didn't go so well, and our life wasn't the ideal living conditions for a family, so when I turned 16, my parents decided to move to Florida in hopes of a better job and on my behalf, a better education. I could say I have a decent job, but with the amount of skill I have when it comes to acting, I want to be able to showcase it to the fullest before the eyes of the planet! Also, I am sure that after I have starred on Little Sister, I will be able to extend my acting and reality TV career and my following along the way. I have always thought I wanted a job more out there, with more exposure to the media and public, instead of just sitting in my office for twelve hours a day.
About me
My hobbies: Astrology, Social Media, Photography and filming, watching TV, keeping up to date with the latest fashion and makeup trends, eating healthily and working out in my spare time.
I like: Witty, intellectual humor. I also really like partying.
I dislike: Overley talkative people. Yes, I do talk a lot, but I try to keep to the main points. I hate when people just blabber on about the most random things! Also, I really do dislike long meetings. I understand its part of my job, but why just sit there when you could be doing more engaging things?
Favorite TV show: Little Sister of course. Closely followed by Keeping up with the Kardashians.
Least favorite TV show: Haters back off by Miranda Sings. She's annoying.
Favorite food/drinks: Acai bowls, avocado toast and on my cheat day, I tend to gravitate towards Starbucks. Their Iced coffee is my favorite drink! When I am at parties, I forget about my diet. LOL.
Least favorite food/drinks: Coca-Cola because it is too sugary and sweet. I don't feel good drinking it and it is definitely not good for my body. Also, if I drink to much I will get attached to it. I do not want another case. Those preservatives belong elsewhere!
What I look for in a person: Loyalty, support and a corresponding sense of humor.
Drinking/Smoking: I drink and smoke only on nights out.
Any special talents: I am good at cooking and weirdly, long distance running.
Fears: Acrophobia, (the fear of heights) also I am afraid of any small insects or tiny animals, (cockroaches, spiders or rats.)
Favourite singer or band: Little mix!
Early bird or Night Owl? I am definitely a mixture of both but if I had to choose one, it would be a night owl.
Allergies: Fortunately, I am not allergic to anything as I know of.
My temperament: If things don't come out as planned, I get enraged. I also have a bad habit of being extremely arrogant and unfair at times, but I am working on it. I don't get tired easily, both physically and mentally, and I will keep persevering to get what I want. Despite those negative features, I have my weird quirks, like talking really fast randomly, but am a fun person to be around.

Outfit choices:
Outfit 1. The office outfit. I just chose a simple black fitted dress, suitable for everyday professional/semi-formal officewear as my office outfit. I feel like this represents my fashion style because fitted outfits and solid colors/patterns according to Vogue, are trending. Along with the dress, I added golden hoop earrings to add some sort of matching accessory to spice up the outfit. For my makeup, I kept it the same in every look as it is a neutral look that goes with most outfits. My eyeliner is very long and thick and is also a cat eye, because nowadays we all want larger and fuller eyes, and cat-eye wings are totally trending!
I paired the dress with the same kind of slides Rihanna designed. I thought it was a cool and funky addition and it totally matches my wild personality! These slides are a bit of a daring piece but I LOVE to stand out, and if this is the answer, then so be it!
Outfit 2. The Partying outfit! Here, I am seen wearing a trendy flame crop top from Forever 21 because right now, flames are all the rage. Also, the top matches my fiery and fierce personality! I paired the top with some black leggings and vans. I added a tattoo necklace as an additional accessory because it matches the fishnet socks which I added to complete the look. I think they are edgy and an eye catcher, just like me! I usually go for black and white colors when I pick my outfits.
Outfit 3. Sometimes when I am feeling sluggish and not in the mood for dressing up, I throw on my Adidas jacket for a casual and laid-back look. The Adidas jacket also represent my sportier and more athletic side (running,) so I would say this matches my personality!
More outfits Cordelia Cartier would wear:
-Denim skirts, (preferably bleach washed)
-Black, leather belts
-Block heels
-Stilettos
-Denim jackets
-Any piece with embroidery
-Trendy sportswear like Nike or Adidas
-Ripped jeans
-Long, flowy sundresses
-Statement pieces
Pose explanations (from Jasmine's point of view:) In my character selfie, I did the classic duck face which is what many social media fanatics use. I also decided to edit my picture into the frame of an Instagram post to show her activity on social media. I did this by finding an image on google images and cropping my picture and overlaying it. I also made my own fake Instagram account called @cordelia.cartier to make the whole experience more realistic.
In my office picture, I brushed my hair back to make it look like I want everyone to have a clear view of my face so that I will be in the center of attention.
In the third image, I can be viewed spraying perfume on myself as if I am preparing to go out to, well, a party! This shows my lifestyle and also my social status. I made sure to keep eye contact with the camera/(audience) in this image to really show my face and not hide it behind a camera!
In the fourth and final image, I am wearing a sporty and casual outfit with my hands on my hips. This posture is usually adopted when one wants to show signs of leadership and power, and these are some of the exact traits Cordelia Cartier has acquired.
Why I chose these traits (from Jasmine's point of view):
When I picked up my slip, it said a Social Media Consultant who has an interest and strong passion in signs of the zodiac and astrology. Since it was a very brief description, I decided to develop and extend Cordelia's personality to make her character and role in a reality TV show more interesting. I chose to develop of the star sign Leo. I made her enjoy being the center of attention and being an effective and powerful leader. Leos are also said to be very straightforward and loyal, hence being one of the traits she looks for in a person. At age 24, Cordelia is already working a full-time job which shows she is very bright. I decided to make her sense of humor witty and intellectual to match her brains! Every now and then, you will see that I added a little side comment in Cordelia's writing because sometimes she can be very arrogant and forget some morals and manners. She is still unsure about her career choice because she feels that she doesn't suit her current office environment. She craves attention her heart is telling her to audition for the show and help kick-start her preferred career in acting or more publicly on the media.
I made Cordelia still indecisive as her personality is very wild and attention-seeking compared to your average person, that's why she is not comfortable with her current job. She wants to be on the TV show because Cordelia believes that the reason for life is to live it to the fullest, which for her, means drinking, smoking and partying, not sitting at a desk all day! Deep down, Cordelia is a bit insecure about some parts of her. She wears a lot of makeup not only as an art and way of expressing her style and emotions but to slightly change her insecurities so she can feel better about herself! As much as she tried to love the body she was given, she just wasn't comfortable with her nose, so she got plastic surgery. As this is her weak point and insecurity, she does not talk about it with others, especially not on camera.
I developed Cordelia's Instagram and Snapchat obsession from her love of astrology and signs of the zodiac. I see posts of such all over social media, so I came up with an idea that she developed her love for the topic after reading numerous posts. Also, Cordelia wanted to be involved with the media, but when she became a consultant, she realised that it just wasn't the right job for her so she began the journey finding another career.

Why I chose the name Cordelia Cartier: In order for her to be the center of attention on reality TV, a dramatic personality needs a dramatic name. I put 'Cordelia Cartier' so that it would be catchy from the alliteration, and Cordelia nor Cartier are names you would hear very often. Also, Cartier is a jewelry brand so one would associate it, whether consciously or subconsciously, with bling! Overall, I think that this name is much more catchy and it 'flows' better compared to more common names like Carter, which you would tend to hear more often compared to Cartier. If someone wants to get a spot on one of the most substantial TV shows in the world, then they need to be unique and stand out from the crowd.
Reflecting on my video (as Cordelia:)
I started off my video with an artsy picture of me doing my makeup then applied a filter called "dreamy" to represent how I am Little Sister's dream girl! During the video, I discuss basic details about myself, including, my name, age, nationality, interests and in general, why I deserve a spot on the show. As you are most probably aware, every single reality TV show is propelled onwards because of drama. A feud or rivalry between two sides is bound to captivate the audience and potential viewers, so if there is someone willing to star on the show and induce drama, then why would Little Sister not want that?
I had some complications during the filming and editing of this video. I had to cut some parts out to make sure I fit all the information in a short space of time. I also struggled putting together a script which did not feel awkward because I'm used to being surrounded by all my friends and followers. Other than that, I do believe I produced an informative and rather persuasive video!
